Irene

This weekend we had our final sit down with the contractor for the bathroom. The tile plans were STILL wrong, but hopefully I had corrected the problem with them. The next step would be for me to actually sit with them or draw it out myself. It went pretty smooth and everything was as expected. We handed them our money and then told me they will call me when the supplies were in and ready to start the job.

Jimmy asked us how our experience with Irene, the designer, was. We wanetd to be honest because we are unsure if we would use them again or even in this project because of our experience with her. The husband has very few vacation day and she refused to work with us on a weekend. He used his last vacation day to do the selection and she made us do the tile on our own. Everytime I wanted something she would keep sayng to me 'the room is too small for that' or 'this is a small bathroom, you dont need that' or something to that extent. We are giving them a ton of money that we can hardly afford. Small or big, we should be treated with respect. Its not like I was asking for a sauna as well. I wanted things like a corner shelf for the soap or tile inserts on the floor which is all doable. She refused to look into new technology or new ideas. She was uneducated on how things are put together or created like wall niches and medicine cabinets. We have a few other things, i just cant rememeber all of them at once.

So when we complained we did hear that she does meet with people on the weekends. So we were a bit ticked off. Anyway, they wer going to pass it along to whoever it was necessary. So while we were on our way home I tol dteh husband how I was worried now that she was goingt o call me and bitch me out or something. He reassured me that it would be unprofessional of her to do that and that and they would loose our business if she did.

Today, I get a call from a numbe I dont recognize and I let the voice mail pick it up. It was her and she was not happy. Insisted that I call her right away and that she needed to talk to me. I am not the best at confrontations and I am not about to call her back. The husnad says that her part of the job is done and there is no reason for us to speak to her again. I know the construction will be good. But this really annoys me.
