I couldnt sleep so I got up and went to shut off the flashlight the kid went to sleep with ear;ier tonight. I accidentally woke him up when i was trying to adjust his video camera and was using the flashlight. Yjere was no way it was leaving the room at that point. It was taken hostage.
So I go in there and the kid boounces up and starts to talk to me as if he has been awake all night. I wouldnt doubt that he was. He asks me to read him books and if you have a 3 year old you know, you cant just read the book. Every piture must be explaind and in every detail. He then tells me that he wants his furry friend Oscar to come in and I tell him that the kitties sleep at night like everyone else. He then plays with my necklace, which I did get as a gift for havingthe little man. Its sweet when he plays with it. He doesnt know its significance to me and how special it really is. Its value goes way beyond the dollars spent on it.
When he was done dinging my necklace like a bell and making me read all the books in his library I asked him for a hug and a kiss. I usually steal both from him but tonight he actually gave me a little smooch and I even got an "I love you, too, Mommy" as I was leaving the room.
Maybe ill actually be able to fall asleep tonight.
